Accident Information Management System [AIMS]
Under the Workers Compensation Act 1951(the Act), WorkSafe ACT administers the ‘Accident Information Management System’ (AIMS) that provides a ‘data warehouse’ for storing a wide range of workers compensation data in relation to the Territory’s private sector.
All ACT Approved and Self insurers are required to provide WorkSafe ACT with monthly submissions including comprehensive details of workers compensation insurance policies, claims and payment details for injured workers, and wages and premium amounts. The details are stored in AIMS and used to produce a range of statistics and reports including:
1. Scheme Update – which provides an overview of the performance of the scheme in terms of claims, payments, policies and premiums including specific information on most common location of injury and duration of working time lost from work.
Statistical Bulletins
2. Statistical Bulletins – which provide an overview of accepted claims and most common mechanisms of injuries for each of the 17 ANZSIC divisions. Click here for the latest bulletins.
3. The National Data Set for Compensation Based Statistics – which is a data set annually provided to Safe Work Australia containing a range nationally comparable measurements used to produce the Comparative Performance Monitoring Report (CPM). The most recent CPM Report can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
The following resources have been created for use by Approved Insurers and Self Insurers setting out the formatting and data specification requirements for AIMS data submissions.
